Crimes by Code Section
In California, the State legislature has separated crimes into different groupings of codes depending on what kind of crime has been committed. The Penal Code defines the majority of crimes that are criminal in nature except for certain crimes. Those other crimes related to drugs and narcotics are covered under the California Health & Safety Code, while violations and crimes associated with driving and roadways are codified in the California Vehicle Code.
